With the Chicago Maritime Museum
On view now
The 1931 map hangs on the museum’s wall in Bridgeport, with our touchscreen guide beside it. The guide explains the racial caricatures in the map’s drawings and the housing restrictions behind its jokes.
We are planning a full exhibit with the museum for January 2027.
At the Japanese American Service Committee
Ongoing exhibit
We created an exhibit on the Japanese Americans who lived and worked in Hyde Park, tracing the neighborhood's history from the 1800s through the mid-twentieth century.
February 2027
We are building an exhibit with the museum, which is housed in H. H. Richardson’s 1887 granite house on Prairie Avenue.

Ongoing
We set up at farmers’ markets and community events to interview residents about their neighborhoods. We also hand out our printed materials and show people how to take a tour in the app.
We want to partner with people and organizations who can help us bring this message to more people. If you or your organization would like our materials, we are happy to supply them.
